Although things are a bit quieter at the Conservatory as we approach Spring Break that doesn’t mean our teachers aren’t busy out in our community and planning for Spring programs!
You can catch four of our teachers playing with the PGSO this Sunday for the Musical Merriment concert, and it’s even more special as our voice teacher, Danielle Klaponski, is one of the soloists and our administrator, Jody Newham, will be singing with the Cantata Singers!
Also this weekend you can catch our saxophone teacher, Kayleigh Francis, playing in the band for the UNBC Musical production of Heathers
Looking further into the future, you’ll be able to catch our harp teacher, Shoshanna Godber performing with the Two Rivers Community Orchestra April 18th/19th.
And mark your calendars for a special solo piano recital by our newest piano teacher, Chiao-Rou Liu. She’ll be performing on April 26th at 3pm. Admission to the concert is by donation which Chiao-Rou has generously offered to the Conservatory’s Scholarship and Bursary fund.
Speaking of the Scholarship fund, this year we will be changing things up and instead of hosting a performance competition, students will be applying for scholarships. We’re looking forward to awarding scholarships based on students’ commitment to their musical education and community involvement. We’d love your help in meeting (or exceeding!) our target of awarding $4000 in scholarships this year. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and the cultural vitality of Prince George.
You can donate directly online by clicking: here or by credit card/cash during office hours (Mon/Tues 10:30-2:30 and Wed-Fri 2-6pm) or by sending a cheque to:

Donors will be invited to our special Showcase concert to hear this year’s Scholarship recipients perform along with the PGSYO. The concert will be on May 24th at 3pm.
