Snow in the Forecast, Spring in the Air at the Conservatory! 

Although there’s snow in the forecast, Spring is coming, and with it wonderful concerts and opportunities to support the Conservatory (including a green thumb version)!

First the concerts:

April 18th @2:30pm in PG and 19th @2:30pm in Vanderhoof Our harp teacher, Shoshanna Godber, will be performing with the Two Rivers Orchestra “Songs without Words” concert  

April 19th @2pm is the PGSO’s family concert “String Bean”

Concerts, Spring programs & Scholarships - What's Happening at the PGCM 

Although things are a bit quieter at the Conservatory as we approach Spring Break that doesn’t mean our teachers aren’t busy out in our community and planning for Spring programs!

You can catch four of our teachers playing with the PGSO this Sunday for the Musical Merriment concert, and it’s even more special as our voice teacher, Danielle Klaponski, is one of the soloists and our administrator, Jody Newham, will be singing with the Cantata Singers!

Off we got into semester 2! 

We want to start by thanking everyone who came out to the PG Symphony Youth Orchestra's Celtic Christmas concerts. It was so fabulous for the students to have the support of the community with two sold-out performances!  

We also want to thank Shiu Chu Wong and everyone who came out to his solo piano recital at the beginning of January. The concert raised $760 for the Conservatory's bursary and scholarship fund!

Celtic Christmas updates, a January piano concert, and new winter programs await! 

We hope you’ve had the chance to enjoy some of the wonderful music happening in our community these past few weeks! This past weekend we held two lovely recitals, including two “firsts” in our adult recital—a guitar group and a saxophone quintet! And with Celtic Christmas and The Nutcracker still ahead, it’s certainly a festive season.

🎶 Music Never Stops at the Conservatory—See What’s Next! 

Thank-you to everyone who came out to our Grand Unveiling concert to help us celebrate the new grand piano! Our piano silent auction was also a success with 8 pianos going to new homes and $2000 raised for the Conservatory. We’re very grateful to P.S. Pianos for donating the pianos and getting them moved in and out!

We’re thrilled to welcome Chiao-Rou Liu to our piano faculty! Chiao-Rou is a pianist and educator currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Arizona. She brings rich teaching experience from private studios, universities, and summer programs, and is passionate about creating inclusive, engaging learning environments. What a Year! A Look Back at the Music You Made Possible 


We began the year with a fresh start — quite literally — in our newly renovated space! Thanks to support from the Northern Development Initiative Trust, our students and families now enjoy a more welcoming waiting area, an updated office, and a beautiful new teaching studio.

Our musical family grew with the addition of two talented educators: voice teacher Danielle Klaponski and violin teacher Maggie Corbett. Their energy and passion have already made a big impact in the studio.

Scholarship Winners and BIG piano news! 

I want to start with a big thank-you to everyone who donated to our Scholarship Fund this year!  Thanks to you, we were able to give out $2550 in awards to some of our hardest working students to help pay for next year’s lesson tuition. A big thank-you also to Ken Hall for doing such a great job adjudicating the competition.
