We have had two exciting developments that we wanted you to know about!

First, acclaimed cellist Cameron Crozman will be giving a cello masterclass/workshop on Oct. 23rd from 4-6pm at the Conservatory. With dedicated sessions for beginners and intermediate/advanced players, this is a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and make music with an internationally celebrated artist and teacher. Participation is free for Conservatory students and $20 for everyone else. Register here. Auditing the masterclass is free and open to everyone!

Second, (for the first time in its history) the Conservatory will have a jazz band! The Fifth Avenue Jazz Band will be directed by Kayleigh Haskins and welcomes all community players on the following instruments:
Alto/Tenor/Baritone Saxophone
Trumpet
Trombone/Bass Trombone
Guitar
Bass (stand up and/or electric)
Drum Set/percussion
Piano/keyboards
At least one year of experience reading music and playing your instrument is preferred. The ensemble will explore a wide range of jazz genres in a large jazz band setting. Along with rehearsing, the Fifth Ave Jazz Band will perform throughout the year at Conservatory recitals and in local festivals, as well as hosting their own concerts.
Rehearsals will be on Sundays 6-7pm starting Nov. 8th. Curious? Come to the free open house on Nov. 1st and check it out!
