We hope you’ve had the chance to enjoy some of the wonderful music happening in our community these past few weeks! This past weekend we held two lovely recitals, including two “firsts” in our adult recital—a guitar group and a saxophone quintet! And with Celtic Christmas and The Nutcracker still ahead, it’s certainly a festive season.
As this will be our final newsletter of 2025, we’re also excited to look ahead to the new year and share news of an exceptional guest artist visiting the Conservatory in January.

Join us on January 4th at 3pm (at the Conservatory) for an afternoon of extraordinary piano music with Shiu Chung (Alex) Wong, whose artistry has earned him major academic and performance distinctions. A native of Hong Kong, Wong completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he held a full scholarship and served as an associate instructor. He is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Texas Christian University, studying with Dr. Enrico Elisi, supported by a full-scholarship Graduate Assistantship and the prestigious STARS Award.
The program will feature Debussy’s Préludes, Book II and Brahms’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major, Op. 1.
Admission is by donation, with proceeds supporting the Conservatory’s bursary and scholarship fund. More info here
Celtic Christmas Update
We’ve been overwhelmed by the community’s support! Our 7pm performance sold out quickly, so we’ve added a second show at 3pm. There are only 36tickets left for the afternoon concert online, and there will only be tickets available at the door if they do not sell out in advance.
Giving Tuesday Success!
We’re thrilled to share that our Giving Tuesday matching campaign was a success. Thanks to our board, administration, and several generous donors, we raised over $4,200 for non-profit music education! And thank you to everyone who supported our Purdy’s chocolate fundraiser—orders are now ready for pickup in the office.
Winter Program Updates
Don’t hibernate this winter! Check out the groups starting mid-January:

Important Dates for Conservatory Students
- Dec. 22 – Jan. 4: Conservatory is closed for the holidays
- Jan. 8: Deadline to register for the PG & District Music Festival. The festival is an excellent opportunity for students of all levels to perform for and get feedback from adjudicators. Speak to your teacher about particpating!
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday!
