Maggie Corbett
Violin beginner-advanced and Cello beginners
Maggie Corbett is a violinist, performer, and educator committed to pursuing excellence and beauty through music. She holds a Master’s of Music from University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor’s of Music from Andrews University. She has been teaching privately for over five years, with students from the age 3 to adult, and has enjoyed watching her students perform their first solo recitals and participate in summer music camps. In addition to teaching, Ms. Corbett enjoys providing musical opportunities for her community through performing. During her studies, she performed as concertmaster with CCM’s Concert Orchestra and as a chamber musician with the Oronoko and Siquez quartets, while giving solo recitals in Michigan, Ohio, and California. Above all, Ms. Corbett believes, as Shinichi Suzuki did, that “every child can,” and values excellent music for its ability to build confidence and dignity in its students. Teaching Method: Depending on the age and skill level of the student, Ms. Corbett uses a variety of methods, including Suzuki and RCM materials, as well as traditional studies like Sevick, Schradieck, or Wolfhart.
