Ariane Jarosch
FLUTE, FLUTE CHOIR, CHILDREN'S CHOIR, UKULELE GROUP
Ariane holds a Bachelor's of Music from the University of Victoria. She is the Principal flute player of the Prince George Symphony Orchestra and very much enjoys her orchestral work as well as her opportunities to perform chamber music with her colleagues. Ariane is also the Music Director of the Prince George Cantata Singers, a large and very active community choir who recently placed first in their category of the BC Festival of the Arts.
Ariane has worked as a music and band teacher in a private school as well as for school District 57 and a homeschooling programme as a substitute teacher, a workshop clinician and a contractor. She enjoys teaching people of all ages and levels and has been thrilled to see some of her students advance to studying music at the university level. More importantly though, sharing the joy of music and all that it brings to our lives, is a lasting honour.
Ariane was privileged (long ago) to be selected to attend the prestigious Domaine Forget camp where she sat in on Master classes with some of the “great” flute pedagogues including Raymond Guiot and Alain Marion (a pupil of Marcel Moyse). She has taken lessons from various Canadian flute players and has attended intensive flute workshops facilitated by William Bennett, Lorna McGhee and Gwenn Klassen.
Though a flute (and piccolo) player at heart Ariane has been involved in choral music most of her life. At 16 she was selected to be an assistant conductor at the Powell River Academy of Music. She has directed a number of choirs including children, youth and adult choirs. Prior to moving to Prince George, she developed and directed a community choral programme for 12 years.
In her spare time Ariane is passionate about enjoying the quiet and beauty of the great BC outdoors especially with photographically capturing those special moments in time. She is especially pleased and entertained by her outdoor herd of alpacas which she and her family tend to on their 5 acres.

Testimonials:
"Ariane’s energy and passion towards music and teaching are amazing. It is only thanks to Ariane’s patience and experience that my daughter, who has ADHD, has been so successful in her flute-playing journey. Ariane goes above and beyond of what is expected of her, and she genuinely cares about her students and their well being. I cannot recommend Ariane enough as a flute teacher, and as a kind, compassionate person."
